Parenting Programmes

We offer parenting programmes in each of the centre areas. Some have a free crèche to reduce the worry about finding childcare whilst you attend.

Understanding your Children (Using the Solihull Approach)

This parent’s group is for you if you want to make long term changes and gain a set of ideas you can continue to use as your family grows.

It’s not about a ‘quick fix’ or about managing problems.  Its about working out what’s going on behind your child’s behaviour and helping children with their emotional development.

It’s recommended for parents who want to have fun, make friends and be the best parent or carer that they can be.

It might feel like quite a commitment to attend for 10 weeks but at the end parents often tell us that they don’t want it to end!

The group runs for 2 hours per week for 10 weeks with a supporting crèche.  Please contact us to book a place.

Circle of Security

This parenting programme makes use of DVD clips, simple graphics, hand-outs and supportive discussion to help parents achieve: a better understanding of their child’s emotional world; helping their child to cope with their feelings; and building a stronger and more secure relationship with their child.   An introductory session is followed by an 8-week programme delivered in partnership with an Assistant Psychologist from Norfolk’s Parent and Infant Mental Health Service, Point 1
